Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 August 2026
This policy explains how SubLeaseHub collects, holds, uses, discloses and protects personal information, and how you can access or correct that information or make a complaint. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. Who we are
SubLeaseHub is an Australian commercial sublease marketplace. Full operating entity details are available on request by emailing support@subleasehub.com.au.
In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” means the operator of SubLeaseHub, and “you” means any person who visits the site, creates an account, publishes a listing or submits an enquiry.
2. What personal information we collect
We collect only the information we need to run the marketplace:
- Account information: your name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), and optionally a phone number, company name and a separate notification email address.
- Listing information: property details, addresses, rent and term information, images and any contact details you choose to publish. You control whether the street address is displayed publicly.
- Enquiry information: your name, email address, optional phone number and company, and the content of the message you send to an advertiser.
- Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, and pages visited, collected automatically by our hosting and infrastructure providers for security and reliability.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act), and we ask that you do not include it in listings or enquiry messages.
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you when you create an account, edit your profile, publish or edit a listing, or submit an enquiry form. We also collect technical information automatically when you use the site. We do not buy personal information from third parties.
4. Why we collect and use it
We use personal information to:
- create and administer your account and authenticate you;
- publish listings you choose to publish;
- pass your enquiry to the relevant advertiser so they can respond to you;
- send service and notification emails, such as enquiry alerts and password resets;
- maintain the security, integrity and performance of the platform;
- respond to your questions and comply with our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use enquiry contact details for unrelated marketing.
5. Who we disclose it to
- Advertisers: when you submit an enquiry, the details you provide in that form are disclosed to the advertiser of that listing so they can contact you directly. We cannot control how an advertiser subsequently handles your information.
- Service providers: hosting, database, authentication, image storage and email delivery providers who process data on our behalf under contract.
- Law enforcement and regulators: where disclosure is required or authorised by law.
Some of our service providers store or process data on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. Where that occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles the information consistently with the APPs.
6. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including encrypted transport, hashed passwords, database access controls and row-level security rules. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above or as required by law. When you delete your account we remove or de-identify your profile and listings, subject to any records we must retain.
7. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar browser storage that are necessary for the site to function, such as keeping you signed in. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, but parts of the site may then not work. If we introduce analytics or advertising cookies in future, we will update this policy first.
8. Accessing and correcting your information
You can view and correct most of your information at any time in your profile settings and by editing your listings. You may also request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing support@subleasehub.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable period, normally within 30 days. If we refuse access or correction, we will explain why in writing.
9. Complaints
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please email support@subleasehub.com.au with details of your complaint. We will acknowledge it and aim to respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can refer the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The current version is always available free of charge on this page, with the “Last updated” date shown above.
